What are the next two names in this sequence?

George, Thomas, Abe, Alexander
I thought since "George", "Thomas", and "Abe" were part of the sequence it would have something to do with the presidents, but I don't think that there was a president by the name of Alexander. Was there? Could someone please tell me the next 2 names in the sequence so that I could help my daughter out tonight? Thanks

Alexander Hamilton was a President. I won't give the exact answer but I direct your daughter to the right place. George Washington is on the $1 bill, Thomas Jefferson on the $2 bill, Abe Lincoln on the $5, and Alexander Hamilton is on the $10.

They weren't all U.S Presidents. Alexander Hamilton was the genius behind U.S. Monetary policy in the early days. I think what they all have in common is that they appear on our money. George Washington ($1), Thomas Jefferson (1936) (Nickel), Abe ($5), Alexander ($10)

So maybe... Jackson ($20), and Grant ($50)? Just a guess. That's a strange question.

Alexander Hamilton Stephens, the Great Commoner, may be the missing link you are searching for. He wasn't the prez, just the VP, so check the other three to see if one also served a term as vice president.
This is a fun question, but you aren't doing your daughter any favors if you do it for her. Let her try and figure it out herself. You won't be sitting beside her when she writes her exam and this is the kind of question examiners love.....
