ya. The thing is the only thing posted in our country on 50 foot high poles over the freeway is gas. It really has stayed even with inflation

Yes, I have heard before gas is under inflation. How does that give the oil companies the right jack up the priced 50cent a gallon cause their "might" be a supply concern? Does it give them a right to pay their CEO 300 million a year, not properly maintian their equipment, and then blame refining capacity on the high prices? No, there is not exuse...so I have every right to complain. It my given right as an American to complain. Of course, I did the next best thing. I bought into a fund for my IRA that invest in oil companies. Now when I go to the pump I look at it as saving for my retirement.

The only thing your graph does not address is that the supply AND demand of gasoline before World War I was extremely low.

Your graph does not take that into account.

True, but the last time prices were this high was 1979...which fueled the Iranian hostage crisis....and here we are again with angry mideast nations with pockets full of cash...and a tense world situation. High oil price is bad for America...whether or not it is the highest is irrelevant.

Yes. I know that. You know what bothers me. The people who think that if we WEREN'T in these other countries then gas would be cheaper. Do some f-in research people, take an ecomonics class, and buy a friggin hybrid!!!

you can see by the graph that prices sharplt increased during nixon and his energy policy .then again under bush and his policy and then again under george here we have all time record energy prices .
GUESS no one pays any attention to the falling gas prices under clinton even though he was a pig .he did save us some money .

You forgot to mentioin the horrific salaries paid to the top 100 executives of each oil company PLUS the equally devastating amount paid to EACH of the top 100 executives for a slush fund that the consumers are all paying for

shell oil company was here in Columbus to give Ohio State a one million check and the CEO dodge the question why thy had a 41 billion profit last quartet
