I want to replace the soles on some Doc Martens. Several shoe repair places said that they can't do it because of the air sole they use. They said I would have to find some place that can do it. Any ideas?

Back when Doc Martens were first introduced and still made in England, you could send your boots in for a resole free of charge (minus shipping and handling).

Nowadays, the offer doesn't stand as they have moved their production factories to China.

You might contact their main distro center and inquire about this offer anyway - it never hurts to try.

Love Docs. Have a lovely set of purple ones that have lasted me years. Always look great teamed with a skirt. So I'd say go for it. But buy yourself the best leather softener you can get and be prepared to have blisters for a week before you break into them. So comfy when you do though.

According to drmartens.com, the most shoe repair shops cannot replace the soles. Check out the FAQ page for more info.

You should be able to call the store you got them from and they can tell you or try their website. The phonebook may have a listing for shoe repair also.
