huh? Bob puts cats behind houses every Sataurday. This is a sentence of course, so it's just that, the Subjet is Bob and what does Bob do, he puts cats behind houses. And when does he do this, He does this every Saturday. Well looking at it in General psychology, why does Bob do this and why does he pick cats and why does he do it every Saturday? I think this sentence has a deeper meaning then what Bob does every Saturday with the cats. Maybe your instuctor is trying to get you to see beyound the sentence and see more of the what Bob does and the reason Bob feels like he has to place the cats thier every Sataurday.I would have had to of been there and heard the whole lecture. Seems that your intructor has more in mind then what bob is doing with the cats and where he places them? Maybe your instuctor wants you to parphrase this and make it into something else like why does Bob do this in the first place, why is he so infactuated with cats and why is it so important for Bob to place the cats behind houses every Saturday. Why does Bob not do this on sunday, who is Bob? Why is Bob placing the cats behind people's homes? I don't know. I hope this helps a bit though.

This appears to be an exercise to prepare you to think critically. It's not a question. The only thing you can think about it why Bob would put cats behind houses every Saturday.
It's a simple statement, but most of the people who answered it answered with as many details as they could. It reminds me of a very old paper I read concerning children answering simple questions (What is a house? A cat? A rock? etc), with each child answering all the knew about the subject and as age increased, so did the amount of detail in the answers.

1. Bob doesn't like cats in the house on Saturday.
2. Bob puts cats behind houses every Saturday because someone picks them up and takes them away after he collected them for the whole week.
3. Bob puts more than one cat behind different houses every Saturday.
4. Bob doesn't like cats.

Well generally it would probably make people think that a man bobs cats behind houses but if one thinks of the word usage and where the words are placed it means a guy named Bob places felines in the backside of possibly his neighbors or some random people's homes on the last day of the week. Maybe Bob's role is the one who distributes stray cats. lol.

To me, it means that every Saturday Bob places cats near the back side of houses. I suspect it's an idiom translated from some other language, or is intended to cause you to associate Bob with sneaking around behind cathouses every Saturday.

Maybe something is attracted to the back of the house on Saturdays. Rats or mice invading a takeaway after the weekend post drink diners.
perhaps "puts" shouldn't be there.
or- every saturday puts cats behind bobs houses.

Because Bob has a fetish. He likes cats way too much. He must keep exactly 3 in his house at all times. If any more come in, he must throw some out so that he has exactly 3. Bob has OCD and AIDS.

You have convinced me of what I have always thought. Phychologists, especially those who claim to be the esperts, are pure bullshitters. Wait until you go back to class and hear the crap he will give you as the explanation. If you challenge it, he will say, that was the exact point of the question. Fraud was proven to have made up his 'research' and was so weird that I have no doubt he would be committed if he was around today. Psychology - it reminds me of the Regents Canal in East London where it passes through some gates. Known as Bow Locks....
