It depends upon the parties involved and how much money is at stake. Normally, when one settles before trial, it saves time and money for all parties involved.

Unless it was something REAL serious , yes they are .. A few people I know settled before a trial..It's really up to the lawyer, but I would say yes..

I would say yes. I fell and fractured my entire hip, which has developed into a permanent injury (leg on injured side now being shorter than the other leg resulting in a pronounced limp). My attorney said that permanent injury cases aren't even considered until one year has elapsed (which mine hasn't), but that he's confident it will be litigated out-of-court.

Most often, I think, now days they are using more mediation than trials. Your attorney should be discussing these things with you.

Yes, settlement insures some money. In the court system you are less likely to win your case .
