...yer, moved from England to the Rep. Ireland. I was a little lonely at first, but made friends through work mainly. I kept in touch with my old pals for support. ......and it really didn't take long to settle in once I stopped telling myself 'it's not like this at home/I wanna go home' and accepted that things are slightly different here and thats all part of the adventure....I love it here now, and don't think I'll be going home for a long time......hope it works out for you - good luck!!!!

I moved from China to America. If you're in school, making friends should be easy. If not, then make friends with your co-workers and neighbors.

I lived in Italy for a year, first learn the language then pay attention to the customs and habits, finally drink beer, wine, and/or liquor!

FIRST I STARTED LEARNING THEIR LANGUAGE AND WHEN I FOUND SOMEONE THAT I FELT COMFORTABLE WITH I ASKED THEM IF THEY WOULD HELP ME AND THAT IS HOW I LEARNED THE LANGUAGE AND MADE FRIENDS IT IS SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BE RESPECTFUL OF THEM AND THEIR CULTURE DON'T GO OFF SPOUTING YOUR USA OPINIONS OR YOURS
