The last baby shower I went to had food, tons of games, prizes for mom, baby, & guests, and lot of pictures. It's nice to let the guests take pictures with disposable cameras...you get some really funny pictures. The prizes for the guests were small things from the dollar store...just to make the games more fun.

TO host a good shower is actually pretty easy. Keep your menu simple, try salads and meats cheeses and rolls also relish trays are always a good idea. Maybe two or three games, simple games though like 20 question about the baby like if the baby has curly hair does it come from mom or dad. Another game the toilet paper around the tummy then see who gets the closest to her tummy size.

Keep your prizes simple too the dollar store is a great place to find nice inexpensive gifts. For your party favour which is the gift to take home try and gear it to the sex of the baby if you know it. Like a little dinky car for a boy with the thank you card being from him or a lip gloss if it is a girl with the thank you card being from her or a small picture frame if you don't know the sex. Again all great things you can get at a dollar store.

Just remember above all else make sure that the mommy to be has what she needs and that she is happy with the day.

Hope this helps and have fun

First, I assume you've sent out the invites. Then you'll need a few decorations and a simple menu. Try a sandwich, salad, chips, dessert, and beverage. You can expand to your own desire. Then make sure you have plates, napkins, cups, and cutlery. If you wish to play a game or two, have a few prizes and the games, paper, pens, etc,. I always found it nice to prebuy thank you cards and hand one out to every guest who attends. That will save the expectant mother a lot of time, and you can draw an envelope for the door prize.(the guest will address the envelope and put the blank card inside) Have a camera handy and a person to write down what each gift was and from whom it was given. Don't forget to have fun!

Plates, napkins, silverware, cups, food, whatever game supplies you need (pens, paper, string, etc.), decorations, gifts for the mom-to-be and for the guest who wins on the games, make sure you have an idea for any tie breakers that may occur. Another idea you can incoprorate if you haven't already is to have something (a baby blanket, photo album, baby towel) something for guests to sign or right "advice" on.

Depending on where your having it;
Decorations (tablecloths, things to hang, table toppers like plastic baby shoes filled with candy etc, candy bar wrappers from ebay), food & drinks (cups, plates, napkins, plasticware,ice, little plates for cake), cake , games (at least 3)& gifts for winners, somthing to write the gifts given and from who on, you can always get a poster baord and let the guests sign it when they arrive as a wish for good luck to mother and baby and/or family... another thing is maybe have everyone guess the weight and length and date of baby etc...
