I have always had problems but a flat surface is a great idea. It is best to have someone help you with it. Im sure getting together to do nails would be a fun break for anyone!

I have had really good luck with the Sally Hansen French Manicure kit. I do use the stickers though. What I do is, I completely let my left hand dry after I have finished it. Then I apply the stickers to my right hand and do the white on those fingers. If you let it dry completely and wait patiently it does a flawless job. I have recieved so many compliments for it. Otherwise, have a friend do your right hand.

Its tricky.
I always start with the difficult hand and I use masking tape (any hardware or stationers will sell it) instead of those silly sticker things.
Having said that, I have been considering stopping as a local youngster pointed at my hand saying "Look, porn star fingernails"
ahem..

You can buy stickers ready french manicured, stick them on and then file off the excess. Easy to do, with good results.

Same always happens to me, and those stickers never work out for me. I would either buy acrylics or go to a salon, or if you have someone in your household who is good at it, they can help you out.

i always do french manicures on my toes i can never make them look nice on my hands otherwise i just go to wal-mart or target and get fake acrilyc nails for about 5.00 they are really nice if you can't do them yourself or just go to a salon and have them done for you

When you are doing it, do it on a flat surface that allows you lots of room. Take your time. Or call a friend over.
