No offense, but right now, you sound like you have no idea of what care a bunny needs. I suggest you research it first. Most people impulse buy bunnies, and then the poor thing gets left in a hutch and forgotten. Or worse, set free only to die a slow, painful death by predators or cold.
Rabbits are very intelligent animals. They get bored and depressed if they're left in a cage all day. They should really be litterbox trained and given run of the house. The house rabbit network usually has plenty of information about rabbits, and adopts them out to families. Try going to one of their websites.
Sorry for the edit. I almost forgot.
Try not to get a bunny from a pet store. There are plenty of bunnies that need rescuing, and those are usually already spayed or neutered. Disease runs rampant in pet stores, so if you get one there, be ready for plenty of vet bills. I would especially avoid chain stores, like Petco or Petland. Those are devoted soley to making money, and the health of the animals is almost never taken into consideration. Rabbits there often get snuffles or fur mites and are almost always taken away from their mothers before they're ready. In fact, the Petco near my house is now banned from selling rabbits, because they were being treated so badly. If you positively /have/ to go to a pet store, go to one of those little family owned ones where the owners breed the rabbits themselves. They're generally a little better.

Look online for a foster bunny! There are several places that take bunnies in until they can find a home for them. I have a bunny...she is the sweetest little thing ever! She waits for me at the door to come home...she gives me kisses...she's very cuddly and cute. Definately do some research though. The house rabbit society has a very good website-it's very informative. My bunny is also litterbox trained so she runs around my house all day long. Definately get it fixed if you get one..it will prolong it's life. Spend a lot of time with it when it is a baby. They don't usually like to be picked up (preditors pick them up in the wild) but they can be very cuddly and affectionate. They do, however, require a lot of attention and care.

As said before DO NOT get a bunny from a pet store. Buying from petstores unfortunately just adds to the problem. There are SO many bunnies that need homes (many are euthenized in shelters every year!!!!). SAVE A BUNNY'S LIFE: Go to petfinder.com and check your area or call your local animal shelter and see if they have any.
Check out www.rabbit.org first though to see what it takes to provide for your pet. It's a 9 year commitment so best to be prepared. They really are GREAT pets but all pets do take work. If you're willing to do the work the reward will be overwhelming!
Good luck!!!

Before you get a bunny you need to learn about them so you understand that they are work. They poop a lot and they need to be litterbox trained. They also chew a lot. So you need to bunny proof your house. That means things that can break need to be off the floor, wires need to be hidden or wrapped in split loom cable and cover baseboards up. You should read the book the House Rabbit Handbook and visit these sites.

Yes they are cute.. but when they pee !!! whoooooo, foooochy. and they dont potty train themselves ... they poop little pellets that dont really smell but pee ewwwww.
also... they are not very cuddly.. they like to be left alone. You'll have to get a cage and after a while... when you lose the excitement of the bunny being around... just picking them up can be difficult because 1. they will bite you or 2. they wont let you near them.
I had 2 bunnies in the past... not like a kitty thats for sure.

I as quickly as lived with an English family members. No, I wasn't an replace student. that would desire to be cool. They have been my foster family members jointly as me mum did yet another stint in detox. besides, their code word for female pads and tampons became "bunnies." Dunno why, and care much less. yet to this present day, alongside with my love of Bangers and mash, i take advantage of the word bunnies whilst i pick female paper products. Are they lovable? No. it somewhat is in elementary terms a manner of fending off the words "pads" and "tampons" on the family members grocery record.

Petland is best, they have a good variety of breeds. what you should do is go on the internet and research on what breed is best for you, some are more susceptible to different deceases and need a different diet and more care. other breeds have super long hair and need to be brushed daily so you need to have lots of time with your rabbit!!
Maker sure before you get a rabbit that you research like crazy on it. go on many different websites and read books on basic rabbit care and different rabbit breeds. Once you get a pet, your whole lifestyle changes, make sure that you have time and you have good resources to care for your rabbit. make sure that you spay/neuter your rabbit(it makes it more healthy and nicer too!!) also you need to have a good vet to go to at least every year! there is lots of things that you need to know about a rabbit. when i got my rabbit i researched for a year(not needed) but make sure you know allot of things about rabbits. if you have any questions ask your vet or look it up.
