It depends on the drugs or medications a person has been on. You can experience a WIDE range of withdrawal symptom and be very tired all the time. The amount of time to get the drugs and withdrawals out of their system can vary greatly.
It could be weeks or even months before the drugs and symptoms are completely gone. However the cravings can last as long as 5 years. A person can wake up with cold sweats, heart racing, and other nasty symptoms .
Drug addictions is a powerful thing and it can do a lot of damage to a person. It is also a medical condition and really should be treated. Rehabilitation programs are a good idea.

Yeah, it is possible for someone who no longer uses drugs to be tired all the time. Even if they've been clean for a while. Using drugs causes a lot of damage to the body. It causes some people to become anemic...low iron which also causes tiredness. Or withdrawls...they have been thru and put their body thru an ordeal and have become unhealthy. Tiredness is also a sign of Hep-C. So, in which case, I would say...have the person go to the doc and get a checkup and physical. Only way to be safe and make sure....

Perhaps he should be tested for Hepititis C. Drug users pass this deadly disease around and don't even know they have it until it makes their liver fail. Tiredness is one symptom of Hep-C. Take the person to the doc and be honest with him. Being "clean" will not clear up Hep-c. Get some professional advice now.

He's probably going through a withdrawal and can be very tired all the time. It just takes time to get over that ordeal, so be very patient with the person.

depends on what kind of drug. if he was using any kind of speed, especially meth, they are very draining on the body and it takes a while for you to get back to normal. from my experience, getting clean is a very overwhelming experience because you have to change every aspect of your life and it can leave you depressed, which could also explain the lack of energy.
