...she puts me and others in positions we have hardly played in our life. We're not super good and we're young for a JV team playing lots of older kids. I want to tell her that i think we would do better if we played the positions we play best, but my friend tried to tell her she wasnt getting anything out of the drills and now she has to sit out four games! I know I should respect her but its so hard when she puts me in mid when im normally defense!!!!!!!!

It is obvious that the coach wants all of her players to be rounded and be able to play all positions comfortably...awesome coach.

Sounds like you would be well served by saying something. If you put it right, the coach should get something out of it. Maybe there is some sense to what she is doing. So you could get a dialogue going with her and get this situation improved. Also, if you are positive about the way you handle this, it seems unlikely that she will have you sit out games. If you end up somehow sitting out games, it may be better than just never making any move to improve the situation.

This is never a good situation to be in. While you have to respect your coach if you ever want to get in a game, you don't agree with her. For starters, you should always pretend like you buy into your coach's system, even if you don't.

If you ever get an opportunity to play defense, even if it's in a practice, make sure you make the most of it -- show her that playing defense is where you belong! Try to drop some hints that you love playing defense, but try not to make that huge a deal out of it. If all else fails, you and some teammates could always sit down and talk with your coach (try to be formal and respectful), although that most likely will just result in some form of revenge from your coach...

If it's a JV team, you have plenty of time to learn. Maybe she sees something in you that makes her think you could be a good midfielder. She's the coach, so she most likely has a lot more knowledge about the game than you have on a JV team. Go with what she says. You will probably learn something from it.

UPRISE! REBEL!

a football revolution!

i hate when the people in charge have no idea what they are doing. Have you tried approaching her nicely about it? So she doesn't feel threatened. Just say, I'm not comfortable in the position I am in, because I'm not used to it, many others on the team feel this way.

or maybe because your so young, she wants to see you play as many positions as possible so you can know for sure what position you should play.

or you could just ***** slap her.
at least you wouldn't have to play mid anymore.

i'm very close with all of my coaches! i'm close with my teammates too, we are jointly 5 days in step with week for 3 hours, each so often longer. all of us be conscious of all of the different's weaknesses and strengths, and whilst your that susceptible to somebody else, you may not help yet type a solid bond with them. i hit upon that I carry out plenty greater helpful whilst i'm closer with my coach. I had one coach whom i become very on the brink of and as I consequence, i needed to be in prepare ordinary - I even went once I had ignored college because of the fact of a fever. I had yet another coach whom I hated and as a consequence, i would not care if I ignored a prepare in any respect. i do no longer think of the sole explanation why she's effective to you is via the fact she thinks of you as her toddlers, yet it extremely is truthfully a huge element. She in all likelihood additionally extremely likes you and your teammates and because you spend plenty time jointly, you have extremely bonded. I also have a coach who's older, in all likelihood around sixty 5 years previous, and he's a guy. he's not a "creepy previous coach" nonetheless, he's stuffed with existence and he's very humorous. he's an awesome coach and he has led us to 3 league-championships. we are very on the brink of him and he's conscious a very good form of me and my different teammates. we've been over to his abode for team events and each so often, as a reward, we will flow to his abode after prepare to have pizza and play dance dance action, or something like that. each time i'm unwell he gets livid at me for attending prepare and makes me take it straightforward, yet he makes me experience so solid approximately my be conscious of-how that i do no longer innovations prepare in any respect. regrettably there are few coaches like this! I even have performed many, many activities, and he's between few coaches whom i extremely appreciate and care approximately. There are some obtainable nonetheless! i'm switching colleges so as which potential a sparkling coach, yet i will nevertheless see him ordinary (we use an identical centers) and that i watch for it.

Try asking her to put you first in a defensive midfield position, then after a while try asking for defense.
