Homophobia isn't JUST fear. It's also an aversion too or disapproval of gay people and/or their "lifestyle" (I never got that term). I've never heard the term homohatred, but it sounds like the extreme form of homophobia. Like... you can be homophobic but still be civil to homosexuals but once you're homohating... you're gone.

I was about to say no, but it probably is linked. Homophobia is basically the fear that you might have some homosexual tendancies, so you lash out at people who are gay to prove that you're not gay. You might also sleep with a lot of women to show what a stud you are.

Homophobic people are in a way against gay people (which could be hateful) but some homophobic people are actually afraid of them... afraid to think that someone could actually be different from the mainstream society in (for me) America. Pathetic if you ask me.

Homophobic people are often the people who are also racist and very egocentric/ethnocentric... thinking that their lifestyle is superior to the rest of the world.

Everyone needs to stab themselves in the eyes and realize that people are people.... there are good people and there are bad people, and a RACE, SEXUALITY, GENDER, RELIGION, or CLASS does not separate the good from the bad... there are bad/good people in all races, sexualities, and classes across the planet!!!

that's what I think.

Hatred and fear are two close relatives. We fear the unknown. We don't like being fearful so we develop hate to hide the fear. Fear and hate are, in my opinion, the two most useless emotions. I believe that if you fear something learn about it. You take the unknown away and you take the fear away. Hate only hurts the hater. The hated generally loses no sleep at night worrying about it. I am sure more than one person hates me and I really don't give a hoot. It is their ulcer, not mine.

Phobia is fear
Hatred is hate
How can to two be compared. If I understand phobia correctly, you fear something or someone you stay away or if you have so much fear you kill to protect. If I understand hatred correctly, you hate something or someone you are able to be around something or someone. Hatred can lead to many things. Anything from plotting to steal from the person you hate to killing.

Yeah it is.Course not all religious people are like that.I know alot who have gay, lesbian and bisexual friends.Either way I think anyone who thinks homosexuality is a sin is wrong.I know for a fact, the real god accepts all of us and is ashamed with all of the haters in the world.

I think the fear of homosexuals is what starts the homo hatred. You cannot have the hatred without the fear.
