0-make sure mower is off and the fuel tap switch is off.

1-gently pull back the little L shaped black rubber boot from the top of the plug. if no boot, then skip step

2-get a clean rag and the new spark plug ready ontop of the mower.(if you need to take the plug along with you to buy the new one, follow below and stuff the rag in the hole while your gone).

3-.make sure the area is completely clean with the rag before unscrewing

4-get a shifting wrench or if it's sunk down, then a sparkplug sized socket(there are 2 sizes) and wrench and turn anticlockwise, if it's stuck then apply a steady even build up of pressure until it comes loose.

5-put in the new plug and turn it till a little hard to turn then follow the directions on the plug box to see how far to turn the plug after that, 1/4 1/8 or 1/16th rotation. replace wire/cap/rubber L boot

6-turn on fuel tap again

7- give it a whirl, If nothing then, check the connection to the top of the plug and to the coil.

go to the home depot and buy a simple spark plug wrench from the garden center its a open tube with two sizes that fit all of the common mower sparkplugs now if the mower says on the side the size of engine and model number and engine size take that info along to buy a J-8 or a nother plug it should be a resistor plug so it doesnt interfere with radios and t-v's ask the dude at the depot and get advice it doesnt hurt to ask and good luck

Get a spark plug socket and put it on your socket wrench. Remove your old plug and replace it. Make sure you have the identical type/size as you have now. Also, make sure you space the plug to the right measurement. You will need a spark plug meter measure. If you are not sure, then take both your old and new plug to any Autozone or local auto parts store and ask them to measure it and space it for you. Also, be sure to put a little gasoline (apply with a rag and do not soak the end of the plug) on the end you will be screwing in to your mover.

use spark plug wrench to remove old plug after removing spark wire. get new plug, and use a gap wrench to set the gap in the plug to what the mower manufacture says it needs. (be sure to consult with someone before buying a plug to make sure you get the right one!) Then, use the wrench to tighten the plug into the plug socket after you start it with your fingers. Re attach the spark wire, and you should be set!

Pull the cable off the plug, find a wrench that'll fit the plug...remove the plug...take a rag and wipe the inside of the plug receptacle...put the new plug in and put the cable back on the plug.

They are normally located right on the back of the mower. Get a little wrench and take it out, replacing it with one of the same size.

When you take off the plug wire, BE SURE you twist the rubber boot as you start to pull it off. Before you get the plug all the way out, blow the crud away from the hole.
