They were supporting N. korea, i know nothing of them supporting Iran.
China was the most recent country to stop sending aid to N Korea and to threaten a halt on trade with that country. China also was the country that request a continuation of the frizzled out six party discussions.
Russia hasnt really aided N Korea in decades, since their own economy is so weak.
I dont believe either are truely backing Iran, although i wouldnt be supprised at the largest communist countries trying to gain allies in middle eastern nations with supposed nuclear powers. As a matter of stratigic placement for future defense/offense in world politics.

at the beginning we must know very well what haddened in the cold wore betweenUSA and the soviet union and who the USA was able to torn up this union ,,, secondly we should be aware of the war between USA and china and the two bombs America used against china ,,,consequently the two countries are seeking for an alliance against USA and in addition to the this USA cant be the only country having nuclear weapons ,,,but what to be said and the main reason the USA don't want Iran to posses weapons of mass destruction is to protect its sister Israel from any real danger and to give Israel a free chance to make its destruction policy in the middle east

They are all part of the Shanghai Pact. It's a pact formed in response to the NATO decision to consider itself a policing authority for world criminals involved in terrorism. They basically want to form an alliance to fight back against the NATO countries once they have hardcore evidence that those countries were aiding Saddam Hussein and some terrorist orgs.

because they want a stake in middle-east oil. They don't want the US to dominate the whole region, hence they support anyone, nearly no matter who, who is opposed to the US in the region.
Also Iran is Chinas number 1 buyer of arms, going back decades.

Because Dumbo Dubya is incompetent and bossy as a world leader, the other powers figure they have to place bets on both sides. Remember, the Russians made a temporary treaty with Hitler because they couldn't trust the West to stop him.

Of course. They want to embarrass the United States. But they won't be happy when the Iranians turn on them and use their technology against them.
