I dropped out of school in 1974, got my GED in 1985. Would you believe that nobody's ever asked to see it?

I did. I just didn't feel like I belonged there. So, after talking with my mom, I dropped out. But the kicker is that I got my GED by the time I turned 18 and am now enrolled in college full time with a 3.8 GPA (not too shabby for a dropout). I don't recommend dropping out, but if you do, please make sure that you get a diploma because life is more difficult without one.

I dropped out when I was 16 and got my GED about 4 years later. I am doing better for myself then most my friends who went college. Not that I am saying it is a good thing to drop out I just happened to get very lucky with one job I got that gave me the skills to be able to get a better job.

I dropped out of school in 74. Decided to go back to school in 90's. Had choice of diploma or GED. I went to school for one year and got my diploma and had it put in my maiden name. GED is too easy. You only have to score a 46 or higher to get it. In my opinion, its the easy way out. Getting your diploma is an accomplishment.
