I would say something constructive (even if it wasn't)...burning bridges in business is bad, unless you have a **** load of power.

ie.

"I looking for something more challenging", or "I'm looking to expand my horizons in a different field"

Although, I might be blunt and just simply say, "I'm leaving my job, because my asshole boss (who is bi-polar) doesn't ******* pay me enough"

but then I'd probably snap back to reality and say one of the first things...

I guess it depends on what the situation is? Did you get a better job? Do you work from home that makes enough substantial income to replace what you're making now? Do you hate the job you're at? Hate who you work with? Or just simply bored/tired/unhappy? Think about those things before you tell them you're leaving. And be up front and honest. You just never know, you might need them as a reference later on.

i want to leave my current job because there is favoritism and things are not done fairly. i work my little self hard, pay attention to the small details, and do a damned great good job, only to be looked over because i don't have a penis or big breasts!
basically, you have become unhappy with the work environment and wish to seek something more productive

With as much honesty as possible. You always want to try to leave a company on a good note, so if anything happens, you know you can always go back to that company and your chances would be very good to get your job back--or another job in that company.

I would answer this by saying, "I got a different job closer to home, or I started school, or I hate this job and I have found a better company to work for." So bite me. hahahha

managment is screwed up, very low moral, Main boss too old to be doign his job, well let me rephrase that all he does is walk around the office licking his cup, and playing solitare, then he has the balls to say at the end of the day that he is beat. Blah ya that would be my reason(s)

I'm about to start having to answer that question myself. When I do it will be "our company sold all it's properties and has closed". And it looks like that's going to happen sooner than later.

tell then u left for better growth. that wy they might consider offering u better pay or a promotion. u can then consider ur decision again (but i suggest u leave - because then ppl would start looking for a replacement for u, incase they have not found one already.)
