i'm getting really interested in the things you've been telling me....very helpful indeed keep them coming...some lovely ideas so far apart from the dismissive comments of those who don't appreciate how much i am missing tending my garden, and no i can't afford to move

Container gardening is an option.

Since you have a lack of light...you can find a way to reflect more light toward your plants. Maybe find a couple panels of fence and paint it white....that will give your plants a little more light. Even then, you'll probably be better off with shade loving plants.

Also...you might be interested in putting in a small fountain or pond and a bench. This would allow you to create a nice little backyard retreat.

Doesn't matter how small the space is...you can still have your garden. :-)

get some big plastic bins and then place moss or gravel in the bottom and some potting soil in the top and then plant in them and if the space is limited then add some wheels to the bottoms i saw a guys garden in the master gardener that was all in raised beds on wheels like in trays that rolled out of the garage in the morning and he parked them in the sun all day and followed it around the house and at night put them back in the garage

Yeah! Build or buy artificial potters, and grow plants that enjoy lots of shade. anywhere you have ground you can move in large pots, and even shelves! Get creative.. you could have vines as someone above suggested.. and many flowers! You can google plants that like lots of shade ,a nd many recources will pop up.

Plants need sunlight. The only way you can provide this in your situation is artificially. Try a grow light.

Plant something that climbs (in the garden/yard).

You could contact your local council and ask about an allotment. They are very good value for money, ours costs us £27 a year and allows my wife to grow a significant proportion of our veg intake.

There are very nice artificial plants available these days. Easy care, no drips on the floor.
