It depends on how skinny you were to begin with and how much weight you'll gain. i am at 17 weeks and some of my stuff still fits but most of my pants don't,,,,,, all the book say to go easy buying maternity clothes at first because you never know how big you'll get and what size you'll need later. I bought a bunch on ebay at great prices......Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Everyone buys at different times, since everyone's body is different and everyone carries their baby differently.
I wore my clothes, or my husband's clothes, until I was almost 6 months pregnant the first time around.
But I broke out maternity pants (even though I probably could have gotten away with my own for a while longer) when I was almost 4 months the second time around.
I found that I always needed a roomier waist long before I needed those tent-like maternity tops. But I'm also a pretty sloppy dresser in a casual work environment, and T-shirts worked for a long, long time.
If you have to dress better, you'll likely need maternity wear a lot earlier than I did.

Start buying them now. That way the cost is spread out instead of all at once. Don't go crazy though. Remember you are only go to wear these clothes for a few months. When you regular clothes start to get uncomfortable is when you should make the switch.

4 or 5 months, you will definitely need to start. By the eighth month, you may need slightly bigger maternity clothing than you needed before. Take comfort in the fact that you'll be in your normal clothes in a few months.

Everybody is different, I know people who didn't need any until their 6th month. If your carrying the baby in your back you'll be able to get by with regular clothes for much longer. Most people, with their first child, will need clothes around the 4th-5th month

U should buy the clothes as you feel necessary. As long as you comfortable in the clothes as the months go by there shouldn't be a big issue. Congrats on you mom to be status.

Everyone is different. It depends on your body. If your clothes are fitting you then purchase the clothes as you need them because they are very expensive depending on where you purchase them. You probably will need some things by the next trimester just to have the room.

i would say by maybe 1 or 2 pairs of pants with stretchy tops now... dont go all crazy... i am 37 weeks and still can fit into 2 pairs or my fat jeans from before i was pregnant... also i found tank tops to be a life saver... they fit perfectly and you will be able to wear them after baby... keep that in mind... after the baby is out you will still look about 4 months prego!!!
