Communism was a corrupt version of the American Indian tribal system, so being a Native American 100 year ago and older is how it would have been like. There were also co-opts and communes in the U.S.

I'm sure that, like most of the communist countries in history, the US would have been an imperialist nation. Canada, Mexico, Cuba, etc would have become puppet states. I'm sure Latin America would also be awash in blood because of the communist tendency to export arms and violent revolution.

First, tens of millions of Americans would have been killed by the dictatorship (and no proletariat would be dictators). Millions more would have lost their homes and/or other belongings. Voting would no longer happen in any meaningful way. Neighbors would be spying on neighbors just to get scraps in the way of food, housing and jobs.
In other words, a Communist USA would be like the USSR was, Cuba and China are.

I think we're pretty much there already. Everyone has basically limited choices on what they want to do with a career. Most people are kept on some sort of payscale that doesn't allow them to advance. Healthcare is becoming socialized because of outrageous cost. The media manipulates public opinion more so than ever. Freedom of speech and civil liberties are being taken away one by one daily.

There would be a constant stream of people joining the revolution, and eventually their numbers would be too great and the communist regime would crumble.

It would majorly suck! We would be told what to think, what religion to believe....you think it's bad right now. Ha I would not want to live in a communist run country.
