I'm new to Yahoo! Answers. As a women, I couldn't help but look in the Woman's Studies. I'm disapointed, though.
So many questions and answers by us women are full of man hatred and feminism!! There are comments about all men being dogs, (thus a woman being a female dog - hint hint). There are comments about how women don't need men! HELLO! What planet are you from!! Have you ever met a single mother of 4 children?!! There are even comments denying the physical and mental differences between men and women. I'm can't speak for all women, but I like men being different. I think any woman who thinks men and women are the same is CRAZY!!
Come on women! Were better than this!! We're supposed to be the fairer, smarter sex, but we're acting like immature idiots.
What's wrong with us women?!

mrycoffeetea, "self righteous"? Last I checked, it's you feminists that are always praising yourselves!
Fighting for the rights of women is great! But sexism is sexism wheather from a man or woman.
Thank you.

Calling a sexist, chauvanistic woman a 'feminist' doesn't make her any less sexist, or chauvanistic.

trishaann79, I am all for a woman's respect, (of course). I just hate the hypocrisy of feminists. If men aren't allowed to be sexist, neither are women. If men aren't allowed to stereotype, then neither should women. That is hypocrisy. This is really simple logic. Feminists just don't want to admit they can be very sexist.

c_dawg_123, That's BULL! Most man-haters are modern day feminists. They did not fight for woman's rights. They only enjoy the labor of the women before them. Nice try....

I like your spirit. I don't meet a lot of women like you. You make a good point, women tend to hate all men because at some point in life men disappointed them, but that pain is partially caused by their decisions. For example, let's say that you meet a calm, a bit timid, hard working man, who likes you but doesn't want to make screw his chances with women, well the women just ignores and avoids that guy because she judges his to harsh, but that guy is actually what women want, he is loyal, hard working, calm. So then why doesn't she like him?
The second thing is that women tend to be feminists because they hate men because they act like they do. But has anyone asked if the guy ever had a choice. The path men have to make is much harder then the one women make, and they pay their depths hard. But most feminist women tend to think "since he's a man he can have everything". That WRONG, the guy had to go through Heaven and H**l to get there as much as anyone.
And lastly we all are the same race, and we are equals but different. No man or woman on earth think the same, women have their psychology, men have their psychology. And we should use this to our advantage. I have learned that men and women complete each other, the determination, logic, and courage of a man and the compassion, understanding, and support of a woman, makes us a perfect, and together we can get through any obstacle.

Did you open up a can of worms? Pandora's Box? There is a lot of anger in the world.
If women could get along and support each other, then so could men and then guess what? World Peace!!!
Everyone is an individual, good, bad and indifferent. That is why we befriend persons who have similiar characteristics and backgrounds.
I am also shocked at the blatant disregard people have for each other, but I think what has really gets me is the endless, countless postings from women (and a few men) of their tales of woe, how their men mistreat them. Over and over and over. Babies, babies and more babies. Their words just reek of no self respect, no self confidence, no self esteem, etc. I just do not understand how these women think they can bring home any old man they find on the street and call him a husband and father and then complain when they are beaten or left alone to fend for themselves. They did not set the bar very high. It was easy for Mr. Alcoholic to find his way into their lives.
I wish I could reach out and shake all of them, because they have created a life of misery for themselves and their children are going to repeat the patterns.
I try to ignore the negative and just try to encourage others to move on.
Okay I just had to give you my two cents worth. My time is up. God Bless

Women have mistaken the search for equality with the demand for superiority. And men have figured that out. And they're starting to realize that woman just aren't worth the trouble they cause. And that's why there are so many divorces, and men are far less likely to marry. Be prepared for a lot of unmarried women in the future!

I hope that you enjoy the fact that you can vote, hold any job you choose, retain the right to choose between a carrer/family/both, being able to dress any way you like (within reason of course... there are still laws that apply to both sexes in this case). Being a feminist doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be a man-hater. I am a feminist who does not hate men. If you prefer a mysoginistic outlook on life, that's fine. But don't sit here and cut down the very women who have given you the opportunity to have the lifestyle you live today.

Wow! lol lol lol
There are some looooooooooooooong responses to this question! I read a few of them. It's funny how feminists always try to justify their sexism. Yes, we women have been oppressed. Yes, we have been beaten and battered and even raped. Still, not all men are dogs. I agree with your point about stereotyping. If its wrong for men to stereotype us women, it's wrong for us women to stereotype men.
Will this change anytime soon, though? Unfortunately, I think not. There are to many chauvinistic feminists spreading their man-hatred to younger women. They give us a bad name. Now, men are resenting women!!
Oh well, that's life...
P.S. What original feminism stood for was respectable, but because of what feminism has become, it is a bad word and should be.

Honey, I'm a guy and you can't have your cake and eat it too.. Sorry, you woman back in the 70's set something in motion that has divided men and woman in an unprecedented tone. You can also blame the Judicial system that has has alinenated men and drove a stake in the relationship between men and woman Remember, it is woman that have changed, not men!

If you really want to be disappointed in the quality of the questions and answers in Yahoo Answers check out some of the other categories such as religion and politics. It is really depressing as to the mindset of some of the people still on this Earth. Have we learned nothing?

I just want to tell you, thank you for providing some common sense :-) I agree with you that in both men and women there are members of the gender that are worthy and members that are not, so arguments like "All men are dogs" or"All women are b itches" are incredibly ignorant and narrow minded, coming from whomever thy come. I also agree with you that there are indeed a good number of differences between men and women, both physical and in the way we approach our social and intellectual environments, but, those differences do not make either gender better or worse, simply different in their approaches to subsist in our world. We should learn to use those differences to complement each other to make man+women entities that cooperate instead of stupidly fight as we sometimes do. I think that statements like yours are good steps in that direction. Thanks !

Women are making a stand against being considered not equal to men. Men believe they are better because they think more logically. Women believe we are just as equal as men maybe better because we are more emotional. I'd rather a woman raise me as a teenager than a man. As an adult I look to both men and women for my answers.
Men need to raise boys as Women need to raise girls. Only because they feel the same way. Men have testosterone and understand why the beast is in control most of a teens life.
Women have estrogen and understand teen girls. There is nothing wrong with women hating men, it just that most women do not understand why testosterone can control a man 75% of the time.
Pre-Menstral is like testosterone to a man. Men don't understand when we are PMSing. How can we understand what we don't live.
I try to look at the mans point of view as well as women point of view.

Im a guy and from my point of view when women say all men are dogs..it kinda hurts there are good guys out there you just have to look for them a lot harder than usual i guess. when a good guy hears a woman say that it discourages him and he may feel that she wont give a damn about him if he did approach her. so please dont give up on guys...sometimes you just have to dig deeper than you want to. No human on this earth is the same. Some people are intimidated by a person if they feel that person is smarter than they are. I welcome it it gives you the opportunity to learn and grow. And also personally i think its attractive quality in a woman who can out-smart me.
