First go to the USA version of ACER Computer link below:

Then click on the link on drivers page that says:
Realtek Semiconductor AC'97 Audio Driver v5.10.0.5830
Reinstall the driver and it should correct the problem. If that does not work, then go back to the site and check for further support help

Check the manufacturers website for your model in downloads and see if it available. If not and if you have lost the disks, or more importantly the license if there is one, then you will have to re-purchase the software

Do you mean you removed the ICON to activate the sound recorder?
Or did you go to Add/Remove programs and removed it by Add/Remove components?
Or is it a specific audio program from Aspire?
