Yeah, I'd like to think so. It just makes things a little more interesting.

Atlantis, or the Isle of Atlas, was part of a tale told by Plato which was to have occurred some 9,000 years before his existence. That puts it in the mist of antiquity somewhere around 9500 B.C.E. We know the first recorder (or recovered calender) is the Egyptian calender which dates from 4,500 B.C.E. So, if Atlantis existed it would have predated the Egyptian Old Kingdom by some 5,000 years. That would predate Egypt's protodynastic period by some 4,000 years. Most scholars believe that Atlantis is a Myth used to support some of Plato's other ideas, however, since we deal with knowledge and not dogma, we just don't know. Personally, some such civilization might have existed which fits Plato's description in that time period, and over the years was given mythic proportions. Since the med is geologically active, it is very possible that some great city of antiquity was built on a fault line that had previously been quiet, and one day it ripped, and with it went the city. From these ancestors, we may have the roots of the Egyptian empire. That is speculation at best.

Actually I believe I watched on t.v. where some scientist believe that they have found the lost city of Atlantis. I can't remember exactly where it was located, but I do remember it was under water in the crater of an old ancient volcano. They found remains of old structures and generated a picture of what they found and how it would look at the time the city was prosperous and the way the construction was fit the descriptions in books about Atlantis. :)

Yes I do believe in the lost city of Atlantis and that the reason that it submerge into the sea is that it had advanced way ahead its time causing its people to lost faith in God.Hence its destruction.
This is merely a theory but I think it is a possibility.

Yes. New evidence points to Antarctica being the place. It didn't sink, it just froze over as the planet cooled 12,000 years ago. During this time the whole of civilization was effected and was put back 1000's of years. The civilization with live in now is only just as advanced as the time of Atlantis, maybe less, but most of the advancements were forgotten.

Yes, I do. There are accounts in ancient texts, walls ect. on both sides of the Atlantic. There is no way that a story that similar can wind up on both sides of the world.

You have to take the Stargate to the Pegasus galaxy to get there. Just kidding. I think there might have been but in Plato's two dialogues the "Timaeus" and the "Critias" it seems that the story was a bit embellished. I think there might have been, but who knows.
