Whenever someone taste something and it turned out to be nasty taste, they would say, "it taste like crap".
But have they really tasted crap to compare it to something else?

Maybe they mean it tastes like crap smells because sadly, when you smell something you are also tasting it.

Because the odor of crap ,make one believe if you tasted it, it would taste terrible.No tasting necessary the odor speaks volumes.

crap- noun - excrement; junk, trash; foolishness's; anything useless. Doesn't sound like anything edible.
