I only need answers from other moms that have been through the same please!!
I just switched her from breastmilk to formula, soy formula now, cause I think the lipil with iron may have something to do with it. Anyways, I called the doc and she said try prune juice with water, did that, nothing, now its the next day, I called her back she said try glycerin suppositories, I tried that and only got a little brown liquid out of her. She is straining so badly, I can tell shes in alot of pain and its breaking my heart. I just wish I could take it from her. I have also tried holding her legs up to her chest to open her up a little bit, and again, all i get is a tiny squirt of brown liquid. Sorry to sound so graphic, I just really want to help my little girl. Im sure anyone else that has been in my position knows what I mean. So does anyone have any other suggestions, I will call the doc before doing anything, Thank you!!!

Take her to the doctor.
However my sisters baby was always constipated, she had to use glycerin suppositories almost weekly. Many breastfed babies only poop once or twice a week. Any reason you weaned a 11 day old off breast milk.
Breast is best.

With the suppositories (this sounds bad) but you have to push it all the way in, and hold her cheeks shut. I know it sounds mean, but after a few minutes it will work. Or with the prune juice, it didn't work with my son either until I gave it to him straight. I just have him 2 oz. of only prune juice, it took about 3 hours, but it worked well. I wish you luck, and to help keep this from happening again I find that a bottle or two of apple juice a day can help keep babies regular. Hope this helps.

It could be that she hasn't been adjusting to all the formula switches and now she's blocked. I think you should take her to a doctor to get her checked out. BTW, most soy formulas have Lipil in them. Usually constipation is caused by too much iron. Again, talk to your doctor. There are low-iron formulas on the market.

Put a table spoon of White Karo Syrup in her bottle. Trust me it works. The Dr. told me to use diluted prune juice when my daughter was 2 weeks old. Poor baby had diarrhea so bad it was shooting out of her rear. I will NEVER do that to her again. The Karo syrup will soften it, and she will go. It wont be right away. If you give it to her in the morning, and she doesn't go by early evening give her one more spoonful. Good Luck

I would not suggest juice... you probably need to switch him to a low iron formula, and I have used a tiny bit of karo in their bottle before when they were that small.. that will make them go... you could also try and put a bit of petroleum jelly on the tip of your pinky and stick it in his bottom real easy and it is sprt of like an enema.. or you can use enemas

Honestly, take her temperature with a rectal thermomator. Then push her legs up for a second or two and release. Do this a few time. Within an hour, she will feel MUCH better and you will be changing a very dirty diaper!

give her apple juice, yogurt. Dont give her wheat based food. give rice based food. If u feel its becoz of soy milk then stop it for some days and see.
I hope ur daughter gets better soon. I know how bad it feels, my son had bad constipation once.

If it's possible, go back to breastfeeding. If your daughter has latch issues, pump for her. Formula sounds like it's just not working well with her tummy.

Only do what a doctor tells you to do. If you are that concerned perhaps a trip to the ER might be your best option.
