I have had "nightmares" where I woke up crying. Dreams are a way for the subconcious to make itself known to you.

In a way, yes, you can dream your fears, especially if something is really weighing on your mind. If you feel very strongly about this dream, you may want to consult a therapist. Perhaps your subconcious is trying to help you deal with something. Talking to a professional is a good way to work it all out.

Most important, don't worry that the next time you go to sleep the dreams will be the same. You can't dwell on things... you need to solve them.

Hoping you have great dreams!!

It actually happened last night. Seriously. I didn't wake up crying but with considerably anxiety and feeling very tired. The dream was a...pain really. Y'know running, shouting...all sorts.

But yes, you do dream of certain fears and preoccupations but not in 'waking up' language. That is, the images in your dream do not represent their meaning. For example, a car in real life represents well... a car. A car in dream life can represent anything from the person usually associated with it to fear about intimacy, loosely speaking of course. So there you have.

By the way, I wrote mine down and taking it next week to my analyst ! BY FAR, the best way to get to the bottom of any dream!

I've wken up with my heart beating fast!

Fears yes. Also recent events. You fantasize.

I have a problem with heights and I have to occasionally go up a few steps on a ladder and within a few days I'm dreaming about being on the antenna of a building 600 feet in the air.

Its maybe about unresolved issues.

whoever told you this should have told you, that you can dream of the positives in your life as well. i have had many dreams that has occurred. i call them messages from my Lord. a lot of the dreams i have does not even involve me, i am merely a messenger to someone and i would know who to communicate it to, for instance, i had a dream just last night that my daughter had an appointment at the schoolboard office, for her son attending school for D.D. classes. when i woke this morning, she said, christopher, her son, had an appointment at the school board office for these classes. i didn't know about this beforehand. try not to let the dreams upset you, for even a bad dream can change your directions that you would normally take on a particular quest in life. so, keep dreaming and fear not, for your dreams are an extension of you and how to manage your waking life. God Bless You!

Yes, it has happened to me many times. Sometimes our anxieties about certain things can work themselves out through our dreams. If this same dream repeats itself, then you need to write it down and try to figure out what it might symbolize. Likely it was nothing, but I took a college class in Psych. where we had a Dream Analyst come talk to us. The best thing that I got from that visit was this...for example, I hate snakes, creepy-crawlies of any kind (although I had to learn to be strong because I am the official killer of all creepies in our house and yard!) The Analyst said that you see random images throughout the day...tv, mags, life, etc., that will show up in your dreams. If you see something (in my case, a snake) and audibly tell yourself, "Do not dream about that", you won't. Sounds weird, but it works because it brings those things from the subconscious (where dreams come from) to the conscious. Believe me, it has worked with me for years (thank goodness!!) Try telling yourself not to dream about that again. Can't hurt!
Good luck!

A dream is the experience of envisioned images, voices, or other sensations during sleep. Dreams often portray events which are impossible or unlikely in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer, (although some people have reported lucid dreaming, breaking the suspension of disbelief and realizing they are dreaming—being sometimes even capable of changing the oneiric reality around them and controling various aspects of the dream). Many people report experiencing strong emotions while dreaming, and frightening or upsetting dreams are referred to as nightmares. The scientific discipline of dream research is oneirology.

Dreams have a long history both as a subject of conjecture and as a source of inspiration (artistic or otherwise). Throughout history, people have sought meaning in dreams. They have been described physiologically as a response to neural processes during sleep, psychologically as reflections of the unconscious, and spiritually as messages from God or predictions of the future (oneiromancy).

I think we all dream our fears just as much as we dream our hopes. Our dreams are the windows to our souls. They let things surface that in the waking world, we keep hidden.
The point is to understand the dream itself and try to find the meaning. If you're scared of your dream, then you need to figure out how you can conquer that fear.

I often dream of spiders and wake up panicked.

Sometimes I dream they are in my bed/room, sometimes I am in strange locations (like I'm the Queen of England a few hundred years ago) and they are attacking me.

I hate spiders...it's my biggest (and totally irrational) fear.
