the simpsons....I'm 24 and grew up with them....and homer is great by far......granted I love family guy and peter is the man but homer just has that time tested stupidity.......DOH! that says it all

I'd have to call u a blashphemer for asking that. The South Park and Family Guy gods are angry with your stupidity.
Okay, family guy that "idiot" humor to it. Full of akward silences where jokes have time to sink in, many plot lines so you don't have to focus very hard to understand jokes, and utter randomness.
South Park is more of an adult humor show (in it's choice of comedy) and comments on real life political and social situations much more often than family guy and the simpsons.
The simpsons is probably the most different of them all. It can be watched by families more than the other two (many adults scoff at family guy and retch at the thought of their children watching southpark). It has the stongest family connection of the 3, and it's humor is more situational than outside influence or randomness (family guy lol).
They're all great in their own respects, but if I had to choose, it would still be a tie between Family Guy and South Park.

Simpsons are classic, I love them the most. Favorite character is Side Show Bob.... but Family Guy is quickly picking up speed, love them too. South Park rules!

The Simpsons
Consistantly the bravest show on television. Without flinching points out what makes our culture lovably stupid. They pick on religion, corporate criminality, the ineffectiveness of politics, and pomposity of the law and education...
What other show has the courage to show you a nuke plant staffed by inattentive morons and run by a guy who'd run over his own grandma for the insurance?
Montgomery Burns is one of the greatest creations on television.
Funny that such a subversive show should be running on Fox, don't you think?
I guess since it's cartoon characters, people don't connect it to the real world.
