Yes - you can get an external enclosure for the notebook drive that will connect to the computer via USB. They aren't that expensive.

Yes, there are special adapters for converting the slim drives to IDE...but i dont know of any for converting to SATA. They usually cost less than 10 bucks. Just check newegg.com
