What about it? I have done it, but unless you have a lot of money to fall back on, it is usually best to have a new job secured before you quit your old one.

You should stay at your permanent job until you find a new job...cause if you quit and you look for a job...you may find a job in a week or in a month. You have to ask yourself if you can afford to not get paid for a month or more...

good luck.

How about securing a new job first before quitting the primary one?

If you're living paycheck to paycheck, I don't recommend quitting until you have another job (hopefully with better pay). Of course, if you have the money in the bank to live off of for the months of unemployment, go for it.
