I love British films having a smaller budget makes them wot they are chuck a load of money At them & they will all blend into each other like the American dribble that all seem to be the same film with difrent actors..

Yes, mostly!!! There are some great brit flicks about that never had much budget but were really good. They dont have the promo though. Its a real shame really that US film studios think they have the right to monopolise everything, and effectively surpressing great artistic talent that would be a bonus in a creative world for people to enjoy.
I guess its not fair to limit it to only film studios though.

Most definitely.
Also american studios have a nasty habit of nicking existing British films (The Wickerman, a current example) or from our history (The film where the americans apparently discover the enigma machine. i forget the name). The Government need to give the British Film industry more funding, or open a lupole, as before.

"Waterworld" needed a big budget. It would never have been considered by British films. Not everyone likes purely character led . Cinema is for the big visuals. Lets continue to have a wonderful mixture of everything and hope everyone gets the funding they need. Bring on my popcorn.

Couldn't agree more. Movies like The Commitments, The Full Monte, and Waking Ned Dvine were good examples of good movies with modest budgets, while Hollywood pumps out garbage by the theater full.

yes and alas thats the way of the world, americans like everything big if you know what I mean and a lot of their films are deploringly terrible but hey what you gonna do? and not all Brittish films are great, though most of them seem more raw and soul filled than American counterparts who tend to please more aesthetically and are more glamourous- but its not like you're gonna start a campaign so you might as well sit back and enjoy whilst the entire cast of Harry Potter and That great Narnia flick take over the BRITTISH FILM INDUSTRY and give us all good juicy gossip for our tabloids-like how Daniel Radcliffe is gay...etc...etc..

In the UK film is seen as high culture and TV as low culture whereas in the US its the other way around, just they have more money in their film and television industry so XXX2 looks better than Eastenders but both are aimed at the masses.

In certain cases. Consider American audiences though. British films don't do well here.

Nope pretty ignorant statement. American films are not all made in Hollywood, and neither are all British films low budget and insightful.
