apparently there are only eight now with Pluto being declared not a planet.
i think it is a weird thing to happen, but hopefully the astronomers know what they are doing

According to Yahoo! News (see below), there are now 8 planets. I searched NASA's site and found nothing on the demotion of Pluto so as far as their web site is concerned, there are still nine.
Planets: The eight worlds from Mercury to Neptune.
Dwarf Planets: Pluto and any other round object that "has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit, and is not a satellite."
Small Solar System Bodies: All other objects orbiting the Sun.

Now there are 8 because apparently Pluto can't be a planet because it switches places with Neptune every once in a while

mercury, venus, earth, mars, (asteroid belt), jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune...
Pluto is demoted or else they would have to consider innumerable Kuiper belt objects as planets and our solar system would turn into a mess!

Well, after pluto was demoted, only eight - but only until they confirm the other planets beyond Pluto.

there were nine, but it seem that pluto is not longer a planet, so i don't know, maybe in few days we will find out that there is no planet in our ss
