Have computers made us more productive?

As with many questions, no matter how simple; the answer is not so simple. In some ways, computers have made some of "us" more productive, while it has hindered others of "us". If you look in terms of science, and the speed at which research has grown, then yes... if you look at the attrocious lack of grammar, and sentence structure of our youth... ugh!; I cringe at the thought it it all!
