Many versions of Windows98 did NOT have bootable install CDs. You may want to make sure you are using Wind98 Second Edition or SE... or goto bootdisks.com they may have bootable disks for windows installations. If this is a real old PC you may just be wasting time... $300 for a new Dell with Xp or spending all week farting around with an IBM...you make the call....

How old is the PC? Even if the CD is bootable, some older PCs can't boot from a CD. If it is a 386 or earlier it may not be capable of running Windows 98.

u prob don't have a bootable CD go with a floppy. if that's not it e-mail me, i like messing with old systems i have 15-20 in the garage
