yes as the dsl runs off the phone line and most phone companies will not install dsl without you ahving a phone line with them as well

Yes you have to a phone line, but not service. The telco company can run dsl connection with your existing line and not need to get telephone service, depends what there restrictions are.

Yes, you will need a phone line for a DSL connection. But if u need a high speen and dont have telephone line, then you can look for cable internet.
