We have a great home fantasy football league. One problem... we don't trade much if at all. We're looking for ways to encourage people to trade. One major problem we have is that teams pay a $2 fee when they make a trade. I've argued to get rid of the fee but everyone else seems to want it. We also have free agent moves with a fee. Any other rules or other ideas to get people more active in trading?

Thanks for the idea about draft picks but our league is a redraft league. As for dropping the fee, I totally agree with it but no one else does... I'm looking for something else that could be pushed through. Thanks!

double your FA acquisition fee and get rid of the trade fee; that'll get something going.

Its hard because most players only want to trade if they see a potential benefit to their own team. Most leagues have a $ charge per trade so as to prevent too many trades, so dropping the $2.00 fee would be a start. You can always put up bonus points for a trade. ie if 2 teams conclude a reasonable trade then they get to share 10 points which is added to their weekly totals. Its hard to push that rule through unless everyone wants the challenge though.

I like trading for or trading draft picks, that is if your league is a continuing league.
