Forget time, forget the vacation, find someone else. Use Yahoo Personals, Match.com. If you dont have a killer smile, get one at the best cosmetic dentist in your area, loose weight if you are heavy, get a few great outfits (oh, yeah, spends some buckos) get some great photos taken and put up a personal ad.) ----- the photo has gotta be good, you gotta look good, and the smile has gotta be awsome. If you need help in writing one, get it. If your personality needs an adjustment, talk with your trusted friends.

It's not always easy to answer on this question. It depends on many things: your age, how long you've been in a relationship, the reasons for breaking up, children, moving out... There is no a recepe for safe breaking ups. Unfortunately, they're all tough! You must dedicate now the time for yourself alone, indulging, thinking about what happened and the reasons why you broke up. It will help you to realize the things that brought you to it and it will help you not to make the same mistake again. Take your time. Don't push yourself into going outs, meeting new people etc. It might be good for somebody else but not for you..Or maybe it's vice versa. You just need to go out now, have drinks and forget what happened. Just do the things you feel comfortable about, at the moment. The most important thing is to realize the reason for breaking up. It will also help you to move on: maybe with the same partner, as the break ups aren't final or to start something completelly magical with someone brand new. Good luck!

Firstly you need to avoid beating yourself up with the whys and wherefores of it all. Never mind all the I did this and I was good to him/her etc stuff. It doesn't help one bit to try and convince yourself you did nice things for him/her and you've been shafted, betrayed etc.
I KNOW its HARD but its destructive to wallow in self pity!! Been there done that and it doesn't help. If you find yourself on a downward spiral, cut it short. Control it when you can.You need to put it down to experience, painful though it is, and get some interests going, do things you always planned to do, learn a language, anything you really like, just do it!!
Then give yourself time, if you take a step backwards, don't brow beat yourself, you're only human and your feelings have been mauled. Just get back on the wagon.
One day you will realise that you've moved on..the pain isn't as bad anymore, the massive hole where your heart used to be has filled now, and that's the time to really do something about getting back into the dating arena and giving it your best shot!!

Distraction!! It may be hard especially if you have been together for a long time. Start hanging out with friends that understand what you are going through. Have one last good cry over it and look at yourself in the mirror and say "the new chapter in my life start now". Fight the urge to call them, don't have any kind of communication with them for awhile you need the time apart to get over them. A friendship won't work out right now maybe late.

Good Luck!!

You don't because you have the memories but you do move on in time. I have a child by mine so i have the memories. You learn by keeping yourself busy and in time you start relizing hey i moved on. It is a hard, painful road but you will get there. There aint day that goes by i don't remember something that triggered that memory but i have come to terms that i have moved on and that i found a man who loves me and my son and our daughter together and without my ex walking out i would have not found my soulmate. Its like a garth brooks song if you have ever heard it "some of god's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers" it a good song. Thank god mine was an unanswered prayer. i wish you luck and keep your chin up it gets better i know you hate to hear that saying i did but it is true.

Reflect on the good, what you gained and what you gave to the relation ship. Wish well for the other and yourself. Take what you gained move on and use your experience to build a new bigger and better relationship. Most importantly never obsess on loss. A loving relationship even one that has ended is never a loss.

Occupy your time! Stay busy and by all means, DO NOT CALL HIM!!!! Do whatever you have to do to keep your mind occupied. Work out, pick up extra shifts at work, join a club, or maybe delve into a rebound relationship. Let someone else fill the void he left in your life until you forget about him. You will, eventually, forget about him!

First you tell your friends, and when they are all burned out from hearing about it. You cry and pray to the most high God! Tell him all about it, coz he made him and you, see? Then, you pull out your most attractive clothing during this period; because you will need pretty colors, clothing, comfortable shoes to go for walks and plenty of more dates. Don't go to any of the places he and you went to. Pick all new places! Call you girlfriends in on this one, when they're not dating their guys, you two match up and go out, collect phone numbers, talk it out, role play, just have fun! Just get a little loose with the girls for a while; laughing is the best remedy for a sore heart my dear!

That dumb old saying "Time heals all" - is true.

What you need to do is not sit around thinking about this person 23hrs a day! Take some time to reconnect to friends, go out and re-awaken your life, do the things that make you happy. And eventually, the pain will lessen, and you will meet someone new!

Good Luck!

Aloha!

You don't! All you can do is move on and realize that eventually you will love someone more. Obviously if it did not work out they were not meant to be your soul mate. When you meet your soul mate you will look back and be happy that it didn't work the way you wanted it to. Remember everything happens for a reason.
