I guess i have a lot to say. I am half christian and half muslim. In both religions, it's considered wrong. However i live in a city (ann arbor, michigan) thats very democratic and open about their views. Growing up, my parents best friends were gay. Eventually they got married and I was their flower girl. One day in kindergarten, all the kids parents came in and we performed a little play for them. A boy had two moms. He got teased all the time for it. This boy and i became friends, and one day he asked why it didn't bother me. Apparently I told him that I thought all people had two same-sex parents and i thought that I was the weird one! I never thought of this as weird, and to this day, I remain open about the subject. I think it's sad that in this country, at this day and age, the country that was built on freedom of religion, speech, etc. and we choose not to allow same-sex marraige. i respect people who are against it for religion, but i also want people to know that there are both openly and non-openly people who are gay that are very religious. i think people who are just against it because they think its disgusting are ignorant. not stupid, just ignorant. they don't know any better. i wish that everyone who is against this issue had grown up in the wonderful surroundings that i did, and then maybe this wouldn't be an issue.

FWIW, from a married straight woman....
I'm a really old-fashioned sort that believes in marriage....as a major commitment for people in love, wanting to stay together for the rest of their lives, working for a future, sharing and supporting each other, helping each other grow.
You'll notice that there is _nothing_ in that statement that requires a male and female combination, or that restricts a marriage to _only_ two persons, or that requires children to occur (or denies them, if the parties want them!).
The "traditional" (legal) pattern in the US has been male-female. But "traditional" forms have been changed: not too terribly long ago, it was illegal for people of different races in the US to marry. I've read some old anti-black propaganda, from fairly mainline religious publishing houses from the late 1800s, that stated interracial marriage was a sin. Times change, people change, standards change, laws change.
I wish that same-sex marriages (or civil unions, or SOMETHING that had the same legal status and impact as marriage, and was recognized in ALL US states), could get off the ground and pass legal muster. At the risk of being quite crude: I've got six million and forty-seven things to worry about, and who's doing what to whom in their own personal bedrooms (assuming they're all legal adults) is NOT really high on MY list.....
It's frankly ridiculous: a committed gay or lesbian couple that have known each other for years must go through a dozen hoops and considerable expense to protect each other (and still face plenty of legal gaps). A male and female who meet last week can wander down to Las Vegas, pay a minimal fee and hit a weddng chapel, and get a nationally-recognized status and protection---for little other reason than they are heterosexual.

When it comes to gay marriages and stuff, I don't really have a say. I mean, it's what they wanna do. And actually, they shouldn't have to be forced to do "what is right." I have to admit that I used to always think it was stupid and not right. But I've recently realized that how wrong it is. Think about it from a homosexual's view. What if they thought it was wrong to marry the opposite sex? What if they conquered the country (not likely to happen) and made it a law to prohibit straight marriages? Just my opinion. :)

Same sex sex happens. People are born gay. They come to terms with how they are and love who they love.
Gay marriage is a civil rights issue. We need this for:
Survivors rights
Immigration issues
Federal & State tax benefits
Adoption issues
Visitation rights and power to decide when the lover is sick
National recognition

If two people want to get married the government should not stand in the way. Sex between two people in love is a very wonderful thing.

I have no problem with Gay marriages or same sex, sex. Everyone is entitled to falling in love and it shouldn't matter if it's with someone of opposite sex or same sex. I don't think it is right to ban same sex marriages either, it's depriving people of their rights in a sense.

Hmmm.. see ..gays are always ill iterated by people's .. so they have to marry to have someone to understand & to help them..
so.. there is nothing to wonder in that of course they are also a human being like us..
And well... if girls & girls ,, boys & boys are so..
there must be something or the other reason to get into those..
so..they have must decided well before they do these so...
this is my opinion... this is nothing great in this adventorous world.. there much to be known...

Homosexuality: Normal and natural part of life.
Homsexual sex: Normal human sexual varient.
Gay Marriage: Something that by this day and age should already be a fact of life.
Oh and one other thing about homosexual sex: If you don't like it, keep your nose OUT OF MY bedroom.
Thanks

For the longest time I thought I was homophobic. I was disgusted with the idea of gay sex! Then, after much internal though... I found out that I'm not. You see, I'm disgusted with the idea of straight sex too. I don't care who you **** as long as you don't tell me about it. That's my policiy.
As for marriage, I dunno. I guess I don't mind. I don't have much of a strong opinion on it, I have a lot of gay friends whom I think deserve to get married, but *shrug* I dunno I think I'm against stupid people marrying, the kinda people that should think about their life before committing, getting a kid, then leaving eachother.

Let it happen. People who love and take care of each other should have all the rights and privileges to do so no matter if they are gay or straight.
