I'm going to write an essay which deals about this matter.
Please tell me your opinion.
I'd also like to know what you think makes a person mature.

I'd appreciate that.

Maturity doesn't come with a certain age but with a state of mind. I believe you become mature when you start thinking of others BEFORE yourself. I have an 11 year old daughter who is more mature than most of my adult relatives. Why? Because she considers others feelings, thoughts, opinions, etc. before she acts. Maturity has a lot to do with responsibilty. Unfortunately those people who are mature and responsible take on the burden of all those selfish people who don't care about others thoughts or feelings and mistakenly think they are the center of the universe.

hey buddy!!
There is just about one answer that cleared it up for my children and my teenaged students,

HOW YOU REPSPOND WHEN I SAY NO

A maturing teen will think about the answer, accept the answer.
and come back with a compromise. If no comprise can be made a maturing teen will get on with his or her life.
any age child can be considered mature for his or her age.
For example a 5 year old boy wants a bike.
Dad knows hes not ready.dad says wait one year
the boy that excited and looks forward to his goal of getting a bike is maturing
boy that cries and says" I hate you because you are mean I will never get a bike",
may not be maturing yet .
Along this thought.... The first child TRUSTS daddy will give him his bike when he is 6
the secong boy probably was told little lies before and has not developed a lot of trust, therefore hindering the developmental stages of maturation.....
parental lesson
NEVER, NEVER LIE TO A CHILD IT WILL DELAY THEIR DEVOLOPMENT Hope MY point of view helps some!

Putting it simply, a person is mature when they put away their childhood antics. When they accept responsibility for their actions - instead of pointing fingers. (I believe you can be an adult and not be mature. Look at our politicians for an example. They point fingers all the time. If your Bush, sometimes you point one up our own nose. = D)
