a person should not make an internet friend their only friend . people need alot of different people in their lives to make it fullfilling. and if u count too much on one person that can be burdensome to them and they may shy away. give people a chance to like u and they will.

Thats the problem. You can never tell. It doesn't matter how persausive they are, what they say, or what their pictures look like, you will never know if they are telling the truth until you see them in person. Even the phone conversartions can be decieving. Don't trust people online. There are some good people out there, don't get me wrong, but theres also a lot of retards. I wouldn't develop a close relationship with anyone online. Chatting for fun is cool, but don't push it further than that.

I have been friends with this guy that i met on chat 5 years ago, we still talk, not often though. We do not talk sexual beteween the two of us. He is someone that i can talk to about anything and i know that i will get honest answers because what does he have to loose?
Be careful though, there are not a lot of people out there that use honesty on the net, safety first!!!
