Before you start handing out your story-- make sure you've got a copyright on it. --or-- You can mail a copy of it to yourself so the post mark can verify the date..... but don't open it once it arrives. Keep it in a safe place in case someone tries to rip you off. It can then be opened in court if it ever got that far and you've got proof that it's your story. This is referred to as a poor man's copyright and is perfectly legal. I do it with songs I write all the time.
Once you've covered your behind, I'd be more than happy to read your story. It would get me off Answers for a while.

I actually run a site for writers to share and workshop their work before publication. There are several sites like that available on the net. You might also consider looking for a writer's group in your area where you could meet with other writers and help to contribute to their experience while getting feedback on your own.
