I loved my Gramma Irene, so very much. She and I always shared such a passion for beautiful Jewelry. She passed away around Christmas of 2003. I have been thinking about her a lot. What are the most important pieces of jewelry a Girl will acquire during her lifetime? What are your most loved pieces, and why? My Gramma would have loved to hear your stories, as would I.

Before we found out Gramma was sick, my Husband bought my Gramma's vintage 14KT White Gold 1CT Diamond Engagement Ring Set. He gave her $1000 for it. Months later, my Papau took me aside and told me that Gramma had made him promise to give us that money. She had set it aside for us. My Gramma passed away just a couple weeks before my Wedding Day. We used the money to purchase all the flowers. So you see, she was there. She was all around us.

Well, my great grandmother raised me and she was pretty old then, so when she could no longer do for herself I took care of her till she passed in Aug of 2000. When I married she gave me her mother's wedding band it is now 87 years old. It is a wide band but very thin after all the years. I wore it with pride for some time. I started to worry about it breaking so I put it up in my jewelry box. That is something I could never replace and I hold dear to my heart.
