I missed out on bottles, went straight to a cup feeder which works great, you can try different teats as babies prefer certain shapes.

My son used regular gerber bottles just fine, but a lot of my friends who also breastfed, swear by the playtex nursers (these are ridiculously expensive and they have the collapse-able bags to reduce air intake.
I believe Vent-aire is similar to playtex.. It is a fight to get a baby on a bottle. Also did you get the disposable nipples from the hospital those are very like the breast with squared hard tips.
Nuk nipples may work they have a curious bent shape that fits in baby's mouth well too. And you can get them at Wal-mart for a reasonable price (which off-sets the discomfort of shopping at a company with policies such as walmart has).
Good luck

my son uses the playtex nursers but i wanted to tell you do not give your baby formula or water unless directed by your doctor. breast milk is best! i've heard good things about avent. you can also try a different kind of nipple, not just shape but material.

I had to get the older style platex nipples. The ones with the flat tops. Also my son liked the rubber texture over the silicone. I did not give him bottlies until he was 10 months old and the rubber flat top nipples were the only ones he would take. He did not jump right in though, he would take those nipples over all the other ones, but it took a good month before he actually drank a whole bottle with out a fuss.

When is breastfed my daughter I used the avent brand and she did good with them even though they do allow some air into the bottle. I started using them when she was about a month old and she had no problem switching from breast to bottle. Maybe because he is already 6 months old and can tell a big difference in breast and bottle. Good luck and I hope you find one that suits your needs!

If he liked the pacifier from the hospital (soothie) they came out with baby bottles and the nipples are almost identical to the pacifier... if not Babys R Us has all kindhttp://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?cp=2255981.2256160&categoryId=2256167&cid=&view=all
My daughter liked the playtex nursers but she'd only take the silicone nipples... good luck... keep experimenting

At 6 months old, if it's only 10 hours a week then I would suggest offering a soft spout sippy cup like the ones Avent makes instead of a bottle.

my daughter would not take the bottles (3 different types!) with the breastmilk. we FINALLY found the evenflow contour nurser that she loved. it's all a matter of trial and error.
if you are absolutely desperate, there is a product called the breastbottle. we call it the booby-bottle cuz that's what it looks like! they are pricey, but work great.
good luck.

My daughter is using an Avent bottle of breastmilk for when Im in school. They are great bottles and cause less gas than others. I bought them with my breast pump but you can get them and the nipples seperatly.
