India has not yet started playing 20/20 cricket in the international level. However, BCCI has confirmed its agreement to play 20/20 cricket in future

yes, it took a while for the Indian Board (BCCI) but they eventually agreed on playing twenty20. originating from England it has soon grown to be very popular given the excitement and the shorter time duration for a match to complete. its an action packed event all fitted in to a carnival extravaganza which makes it popular among the cricket lovers. India, with a huge following and the current strength in their batting (with stars like Tendulkar, Shewag, Dhoni to name a few) could ill afford to miss out on twenty20cricket.
