canada's health care is free

The biggest difference is that most of Canada's healthcare is paid for by the provincial governments, with help from the federal government in Ottawa; whereas in the US, most healthcare is privately funded.
For complicated surgical procedures and state-of-the-art treatments in Canada, there are usually long waiting periods; whereas in the US, there is usually universal availability of all health care. Many Canadians who don't want to or can't wait buy private health insurance in the US and go to the US for health care.

canada health care system is national.it means u are covered for doctor visits.canadian system let u decide which family doctor u wana choose and goverment pay to your primary physician according to physician reports.canadian system doesnt cover medications.in USA medical system is private it means u have to pay for it all no matter what although u can get a private insurance.there are also different levels in american system like HMOs,..but generaly insurance in USA by goverment only includes MEDICARE(FOR ELDERLY) and MEDICAIDE(FOR DISABLE PEOPLE) medicare itself has 3 levels A,B,NON A NON B.these are different in the things they are covering like medicataion, dialysis or ambulance.any ways bottom line canadian system covers all people(permanat residents and citizens) and USA only covers elderly and disabled.
