Astronomers say Pluto is not a planet
AP - 2 hours, 16 minutes ago
PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Leading astronomers declared Thursday that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight. After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930.

Under the current tests for determining whether it is a planet or not, Pluto is not a planet. This seems a bit ridiculous to me to waste all this time and effort debating on whether an object is a planet or not.

It's not true! It's a planet. It's just been classified slightly different so that it's called a dwarf planet.
