A British man on a motorcycle hit speeds of up to 240 kph trying to flee German police on a 20-km chase on a motorway before being stopped in a rush hour traffic jam near Frankfurt, police said on Thursday.

Police in the western town of Darmstadt said the 42-year-old Briton had evaded officers chasing him by weaving between other cars and hitting speeds well over the 100-kph limit.
"But he could not shake the officers in pursuit," a police spokesman said. Even though there are no speed limits on parts of German motorways, many sections do have strict limits.

The man was arrested after he got caught in a traffic jam near.

My question is this: Where do you find out about races like this?

What makes you think its an illegal race? I'm European and we always ride like that in foreign countries (used to in Britain until they got too many cameras) 236miles in hour and three quarters from Essex to Wales (average almost 135mph, hitting 150 plus in places) They have a 70mph national speed limit
