Conservative means conforming to the standards and conventions of the middle class. This is again bounded by some religious rules and commandment. So it is a relative term only. As the time progressing, rules defining coservative is changing.
Being social is being a member to a society. As Conservative represents a particular class in the socirty, it is upto you in which society you want to stick to.
If your question is related to belonging to the characteristics of high society, then you will have to be ready to lose some of your basic values which may hurt you emotionally in return. Most of the bollywood movies are based on this principle.

it depends on you.if you want to be social, then you have to try to express yourself more often.people like different kinds of personalities and if you have observed, people seem to like lively, funny and cool people.you don't have to be all crazy for you to be lively.just be yourself and try to express yourself a lot better.when there is an issue at hand like your friends or people around you that are discussing a particular issue, you can try to say what you think about that.when you see people that you know, raise your hands and say hi.its not necessary that you raise your hands but you can start by saying hi to people and smile when doing that.always have it in mind that some people are natural at that while some just have to learn it.you are not the only one ,so pick up your confidence, have faith in your self and go out there and be social.u can do it .good luck

Believe me, your family status will help you while you grow up. You might look like a sophisticated person, with humility, of course.
Socialize is an art and it has to be developed. You have to beggin little by little small conversation of common things.
ex. it seems the sun is brighter than yesterday...and wait for the response - never interrupt anybody while talking - learn to listen and pay attention, ..if you do so, they will love you.

Because your family was conservative, who said not to change your self. Are you going to hang your neck on a tree planted by your ancestors. You have adapt and maintain individuality. Who said to follow unwanted and useless philosophy. Be scientific and be practical in your approach to life. Whether you follow your ancestors when they die. Then what is that conservative family stuff?
Hey start thinking on your own and live real. Follow your conscious and decide which is right or wrong.

Hi tell you a joke, hope this will cheer you up. It goes:
-Doctor! I have a serious problem, I can never remember what i just said.
-When did you first notice this problem?
-What problem?
Hope you like it. Be happy everyday.
I need to go to level 4. Help me and vote for me and I will vote for you also! Thanks! :-)
One more joke:
A guy calls his vet and says "What should I do with my cat?Vet says "What do you mean? Guy says "I had a leak in my lawnmowers gas tank and the cat drank the gas. Then the cat began to run around and around the yard, climbed a tree. then fell out of the tree stiff. Vet says "Is the cat dead? Guy replies "nope he ran out of gas.
Just be yourself and care for the people around you. When you love and care for the others, others will also show you the same love. Just don't give up!!

Conservatism does not mean that you cannot be social. Man is a social animal. Within the parameters of your conservatism you can meet and socialise with other people.

I agree that the background in which one has been brought up definitely influence one's behaviour, but then we all have independant power of thinking and analysing which should be used and utilised to mould ourself. If you really wish to change you will succeed!

Conservative does not mean un-social. Better mingle with people keeping in mind dignity and norms of your family . Avoid people who may tell you to 'break loose",,,,"get-unfastened".."revolt"...etc....etc.....Take care you do not hurt your family. I think you better understand the meaning of social .
