If you are running Peer-2-Peer file sharing programs like eMule or LimeWire, that is probably why...try changing the maximum amount of bandwidth for them to use (in their properties). Also try checking for spyware and viruses. If all else fails, contact your ISP.

The internet usually starts working more and more slow as night apporches because more people come home from work so that means more people are using the internet and taking bandwith depends on your internet service provider not always in the day speeds are very good as time progresses things get slow.Another good cause can be is that your using a p2p program the faster your computer uploads to people the slower the speed.Also Spyware adaware can slow it down.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
