...they are there to skank the C2DE's who cannae afford to go out - look at Saturday. From 'Millionaire', onward, we have the most surreal programmes on the television, where you do not need to use a great deal of your brain at all. From 19:00 until bedtime programmes are patronising and moronic. There are not a lot of these sort of programmes, but they will always be shown at certain times over the weekend (when the allegedly intellectual licence-payers...id est; socio-economic ABC1's are elsewhere)...the people more eager to part with their money in order to nab a week in Malaga (if they win, of course). Of course there are more losers than winners - but the so-called 'underclass' are sucked in with sexy lasses and hyperactive camp promoters on whatever programme they are watching.

All game shows are about psychological reassurance - people watch them to prove to themselves that they are clever, that they are above-average intelligence - in other words, that they are better than other people. The problem is that the majority by definition are not above average, and so the shows have to be pretty dumb to enable most people to answer. From the solitude of your own home, you can kid yourself that you got the answer right, but that most other people did not.

Great Question!!!!! They are a fing menace and id rather the tv channels go back to the test card or teletext pages or even blank then this utter crap!!!! What i cant beleive is ppl actually stay up and watch these shows!! how sad!!!!!!!!!

No idea,some bright spark suggests an idea to another coked up bright spark who is in charge of programming.who then buys the crap.
you can see why the advertisers are refusing to pay top money for their slots.
The only good thing about them, is that they keep Lenny Henry off of our screens.

quite agree senior pob, the blooming channels are saturated with them especially in the early hours of the morning,i watched one once about working out maths and it was some thing like twelve plus one minus three and they come up with 998...WHAT!!!!!!!!

its true i was lookin through the channels on ma freeveiw and they show alll of these silly shows i've noticed that most of the games are the same on each channel its bloody ridiculous
