I'm not completely sure I understand your question, but I'm going to take a shot. I don't believe that astronomers chose to make Pluto a non-planet simply because they felt like it. There are guidelines that all planets must fit into in order to qualify as a planet. Pluto does not fit into the category of a classical planet because of it's orbit and it's mass. It is the same way for the rest of society. We don't say a police officer isn't one because we just don't like them, we would have to have some solid reason as to why they wouldn't fit or be able to fulfill their role as an officer of the law.

You can choose to believe whatever you want. However, if there are general guidelines that the majority of people agree with, than more often than not, those guidelines will tend to be followed.

It's not like anyone is sending bombs to Pluto to destroy it or anything. What's so important about being a planet? Pluto just is. What we humans choose to label it changes *nothing* about it. If you want to relabel a scientists just because they didn't do things they way you wanted them to, fine, they'll just ignore you anyway.

Science is not just a collection of facts and laws. It is much more than that. It is fluid, as we discover new things we often must change our old ideas. If you want to ponder on something, think about what life would be like today if we still thought that disease was caused by the devil, or anything else that people thought they knew 200 years ago, but we now know to be wrong.

Well I think it will be fun. On the other hand, it might bring havoc to the world. Imagine I start telling you the sun is known as the nus. People will either think you definitely need mental help.
