I bought HP 78 and HP 45 ink off of eBay (which I have done successfully for the past 6 years).?

Question

The description in the ebay listing was "brand new" but when I received it and loaded it in my printer it would not work. After looking the package over, I noticed that the expiration date was 2003 on the color ink (#78) and 2004 on the black ink (#45). I just need documentation from a third party stating that expired ink would make a difference in the operation of this ink working. This is for paypal. They are asking for this information to make a ruling on my claim. After loading the brand new in package ink in my printer and doing the test page, only a light purple and light black will print. The other colors have evidently dried up. Any help someone could give me would be greately appreciated.

I would contact HP customer support with your problem. They will definitely be able to tell you whether it made a difference or not.
